From Idea to Jewelry: Our Handmade Production Steps
At Yenress, every piece is made step by step, by hand. Here’s a closer look at what happens before plating, including detailed processes like enameling (mine), shaping, and finishing.
1. Concept & Symbol Research
Every design starts with meaning. We research symbols, emotions, and stories behind the piece—what it represents and how it should feel when worn.
2. Sketching & Design Planning
We sketch the jewelry by hand and also create a precise digital drawing based on measurements and structure. This step helps us perfect proportions, balance, and technical details before moving into production. At this stage, we also decide whether the piece will include enamel (mine), engraving, or stones.
3. Material Selection & Cutting
The base metal is carefully selected and cut according to the design. Precision matters here, because this shape becomes the foundation of the entire piece.
4. Shaping & Forming
Using hand tools, the metal is shaped, bent, and refined. Edges are smoothed, and the form is adjusted so the piece is both beautiful and comfortable to wear.
5. Surface Preparation
Before any decorative work, the surface is cleaned and lightly polished. This step is essential—especially before enameling—so everything adheres properly.
6. Enameling
If the design includes enamel, this is one of the most delicate steps:

The piece is then heat-cured so the enamel sets perfectly
This step requires patience and precision—no two enamel pieces ever turn out exactly the same.
7. Detailing & Corrections
After enameling, we inspect every detail. Any uneven edges are refined, and the surface is corrected by hand to ensure a smooth, clean finish.
8. Pre-Plating Polishing
Before plating, the jewelry is polished again to remove any remaining marks or imperfections. A clean, smooth surface is crucial for a flawless final coating.
9. Quality Check (Before Plating)
We carefully examine the piece one last time before plating. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it goes back a step—because quality always comes first.
Only after all these steps is the piece ready for plating and final finishing.

11. Assembly in Our Workshop
After plating, each piece returns to our small workshop. This is where we hand-assemble everything:

Every detail is done slowly and mindfully—nothing is rushed, and nothing is automated.
11. Final Check & Packaging
Before packaging, we do one last quality check. Then each piece is carefully packed by hand, ready to be gifted or kept as something special.
